Prostate Supplements – How I Got Enlarged Prostate Relief

Posted in Prostate Supplements on May 1st, 2009 by Gary – Comments Off

Hey guys, Gary here,

I just wanted to share with you my honest story about how prostate supplements helped me reduce my enlarged prostate.

I’ll touch on the stuff I tried – what didn’t work, and what I am finally using to maintain my prostate health.

Really, I never gave much thought to my prostate. What guy does? When you are young it’s just something that you don’t need to think about since it doesn’t cause any problems. Once I turned 50 though I started noticing that when I tried to pee, not as much was coming out as it used to. I thought that was weird. Then I started having to go more often. Especially at night which is no fun at all. I have to get up early to get to work every day.

I finally had enough and went to the doctor to get it checked out. He did that fun “exam” and promptly told me my prostate was enlarged. What? Oh man, I thought, I can’t possibly be old enough for this, can I? He gave me ideas for lifestyle changes – like cutting back on coffee, limiting alcohol, and to go even when I don’t feel the urge. I didn’t feel like any of that would work for me. That sounded just like coping instead of fixing the problem. Especially the coffee – I need my joe every day! So the doctor prescribed Flomax at first for me to try.  I’m not real keen on taking medicines but I needed some relief so I tried it for a couple of months. Let’s just say that one of the side effects is decreased “desire” – so now both me and my wife were miserable!

So I did some searching on the Internet for an alternative. Most of what I found was just other prescriptions so I searched for natural prostate health solutions. I finally ran across the product called Prostacet. It’s all an natural prostate supplement that has saw palmetto and Vitamin E in it. The natural ingredients made me feel better about taking it. Plus it doesn’t have the same side effects like Flomax.

So now, I’ve been taking Prostacet for over four months now and am very happy with the results. The biggest drawback is that you have to take it twice a day so it’s hard to remember. But it’s worth it! Now I can go play golf with my buddies without having to run back to the club house or go in the bushes!

So thanks for stopping by. I hope you are encouraged by my story. Prostate enlargement is a pretty common problem for men so you aren’t alone in looking for solutions, especially for natural prostate health.

Prostate Supplements – How Do They Work?

Posted in Prostate Supplements on April 24th, 2009 by Gary – Comments Off

Men have a high risk of prostate problems like prostatitis, enlargement of the prostate gland and prostate cancer. In fact over half of men will experience some form of prostate disorder in their lifetime and it is becoming more and more common particularly in western countries.

There are screening tests that can detect these problems, unfortunately most men go for the tests when it’s already too late. If you are over 50 years old, the right protection you need is to take prostate supplements daily. The food you eat may contain these vitamins but they may not be enough to keep you healthy.

Vitamin B-6, also known as pyridoxine, is known to metabolize proteins, form antibodies and red blood cells. This improves prostate health because the antibodies protect you from diseases. Eating foods like soya beans, brown rice, oats, walnuts, peanuts and avocado will provide you with this vitamin. The maximum amount you need in a day is 10mg, and an excess of this can cause nerve damage.

About 1000- 5000 mgs of vitamin C is required for one to have a healthy prostate. Cauliflower, cabbage, and broccoli are foods that contain this essential vitamin. A study conducted by Harvard University showed that men who ate 5 servings of broccoli in a week were less likely to develop prostate and bladder cancer than those that didn’t. Broccoli also has potassium, beta carotene and sulphoraphane, which is known for its anti cancer properties.

If you are already diagnosed with prostate cancer, studies conducted by Rochester University revealed that Vitamin E can halt the growth of cancer cells. This vitamin taken together with saw palmetto has shown great improvement in men’s prostate health. Sea foods, dried beans, green leafy vegetables and organ meats are foods that contain vitamin E. Vitamin A has antioxidants properties that inhibit formation of free radicals which are cancer forming elements.

For an all natural remedy and prevention prostate supplement there is Prostacet. It contains:

  • Saw Palmetto Extract
  • Lycopene Extract
  • Zinc Chelate
  • Vitamin E
  • Selenium
  • Beta Carotene
  • Echinacea Angustifolia Root
  • Nettle Leaf
  • Cranberry Powdered Extract
  • Parsley Powdered Extract
  • Cayenne Pepper
  • Vitamin E

As you can see, the carefully chosen ingredients in Prostacet are ideal for men with prostate problems, or for those who just want to protect their prostate and keep it in optimal health.
